  I am running Windows 10 on a brand new laptop, bought not even a week ago, with Win10 already installed. In reply to Arjay Dom's post on April 18, ❿

We ran the Command Prompt on Windows If you are using Windows 8. Open the Start Menu and type in " cmd ", but don't press Enter.

Doing this, you will have run a search of your computer through the Start Menu. In other words, typing in " cmd " we did a search for the Command Prompt. A verification window will pop up asking, " Do you want to run the Command Prompt as with administrative permission? The file we pasted in the System32 folder will not be damaged. In other words, the dll file you paste into the SysWoW64 folder will stay as it.

In order to do this process, copy the command below and after pasting it in the Command Line , press Enter. It will take a while, so please be patient. Keep in mind that System File Checker SFC cannot fix integrity errors for those system files that are currently being used by operating system.

To fix these files you have to run SFC command through the command prompt in the Windows recovery environment. You can get into Windows Recovery Environment from the login screen, by clicking Shutdown, then holding down the Shift key while selecting Restart. You can also boot from the installation disk or bootable USB flash drive with the Windows 10 distribution.

This operation will take a while and it is important to wait until it is complete. When finished, close the command prompt and restart the computer as usual. Download Now. If a program utilizes DirectX, the software developers will often include an installable copy of DirectX on the setup disc. Sometimes, the DirectX version included on the disc will work better with the program than the latest version available online. Reinstall the program that's showing the error.

Restore the missing DirectX files. You can do this by extracting them individually from the DirectX package. Update your video card drivers.
